Boterkoek - Butter Cookie recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
2-1/2 c. flour (for double 4 1/2 c.)
1-1/2 c. sugar (for double 3 c.)
1 c. unsalted butter--NOT margarine
1 egg (optional)

METHOD |
In a large bowl, mix flour and sugar, cut in butter until size of bread crumbs.
Knead into a ball.
Press into a round 8 inch cake pan until flat and even.
Brush milk on top.
Mark top with fork for design.
Bake at 400* for 15-20 minutes until edges are brown.
Don't over bake.
Double recipe bake at 350* for a few minutes longer. |
