Cabbage Roll Casserole recipe
4 c. shredded cabbage
2 Tb. oil
1-1/2 lb. ground beef (1/2 lb. pork if you want)
1 onion, chopped
salt and pepper
1/4 c. rice, uncooked (minute)
1 can cream of tomato soup
1 cup water OR red wine
1 Tb. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. cheddar cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 325*
Place cabbage in a large greased casserole.
Brown meat and onion in oil.
Add salt and pepper and stir in rice.
Add soup, water and Worcestershire sauce; pour over cabbage.
Meat mixture may also be layered with cabbage if preferred.
Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 35 minutes.
Uncover and bake for 15 minutes longer.
