Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chews recipe


INGREDIENTS

2 c. sugar (I use 1-1/2 cups)
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 ts. vanilla
3 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. unsalted peanuts, chopped


METHOD

Combine sugar and cocoa in a medium sauce pan.
Stir in milk and butter or margarine.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Boil gently for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add peanut butter and vanilla; stir until smoothly combined.
Stir in rolled oats and peanuts. (Mixture should mound on the spoon).
Quickly drop from a teaspoon on to wax paper lined baking sheets.
Cool until firm.
Makes 4 dozen small cookies.
