Discovering Oils recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
Controlling the amount of oil you use is even more important than the type of oil you choose.
Monounsaturated fats--found in vegetable oils--are believed to lower blood cholesterol levels.
Match oils to the foods they compliment best.
Use peanut oil with fish or vegetable stir frys and reserve olive oil for pasta, chicken or beef.
Extra virgin olive oil has a very rich olive flavor.
It is expensive though, so save it for drizzling over ripe tomatoes or for salad dressings.
Heat cooking oil before adding food.
This will reduce the time that the food sits in the oil, so the food will absorb less fat. |
