Down Home Chicken recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
1/2 c. flour
1 ts. salt
1/2 ts. pepper
1 chicken, cut up into pieces(3-4 lb.)
1/4 c. oil
Sauce:
2/3 c. lemon juice
2/3 c. ketchup
2/3 c. molasses
1/3 c. oil
1/4 c. worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 ts. salt
1/4 ts. pepper

METHOD |
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine flour, salt and pepper.
Add chicken a few pieces at a time and shake to coat.
In a large skillet, heat oil.
Brown chicken on all sides; remove to paper towels.
Drain drippings and return chicken to pan.
In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients and pour over chicken.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.
Serve with rice.
