French Onion Soup recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
6 c. onions, diced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 c. butter
6 cans beef broth (10 oz.)
1 1/2 ts. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 ts. salt
1 bay leaf
toasted French bread slices
parmesan cheese, fresh grated if you can |

METHOD |
Melt butter in fry pan and saute onion and garlic until tender.
Transfer to pot.
Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt and bay leaves.
Cover and simmer for 2-3 hours.
When done, remove bay leaves and ladle into bowls.
Top each serving with bread and parmesan.
Note: This can be made in a crockpot as well.
Cook and prepare the same using the low temperature for 5-7 hours or on Auto for 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours. |
