Garnishes recipe

INGREDIENTS

To make any meal look a little fancier there are many garnishes you can put on top of dishes.

Parsley sprigs, pineapple slices or pieces and lemon wedges are just a few.

Pieces of spiced apple or pear can be added to a serving platter of roast beef.

Top casseroles or skillet dishes with cherry tomatoes, hard cooked egg slices or radish roses.

Spruce up boiled or baked fish with carrot curls or green onion fans. You can also use fresh mint sprigs.

Cheese makes an attractive and tasty garnish.
Shredded cheese is an easy trim.
Cut square slices of cheese into triangles.
Cut round slices in half for semi circles.
Arrange cut pieces around the edge of the hot casserole to make a decorative border.

Other casserole toppers can include prebaked pastry cutouts or small biscuits.
Buttered breadcrumbs, crushed chow mein noodles, slightly crushed potato chips or crackers also add texture and flavor.
