Homemade Chicken Broth recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
1 chicken, cavity sprinkled with salt and pepper
5 stalks celery
4 lg. carrots
4 garlic cloves
2 onions, cut in half
3 bay leaves
1/2 ts. salt
1 ts. pepper
1 ts. parsley |

METHOD |
Cut up all vegetables and add to water.
Add bay leaves.
Place chicken on top of vegetables and leaves.
Add water as needed to cover chicken.
Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat.
Simmer all for one hour or until chicken is cooked.
Remove meat from bones and return remainder to pot.
Cover and continue to simmer for one hour more.
Strain broth and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, strain fat off broth. |
