Scotch Broth recipe |
INGREDIENTS |
1-1/2 lb. lean beef
3/4 c. pearl barley, soaked for 12 hours in cold water
4 onions, sliced
1 c. carrots, diced
1 c. turnip, diced
1 c. green peas
12 c. boiling water
2 ts. salt |

METHOD |
In a large pot, combine all ingredients, except salt.
Cover with tight fitting lid and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Season before serving.
Makes 6-8 servings. |
